The Princess Bride
I can never decide between wanting to be a princess or a mermaid đ I guess that’s why “The Little Mermaid” has been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid…like every other girl I’m sure… because she got to be both!
When the love of my life proposedâŠI wanted the dress to be perfect. I had this vision in my head of what I wanted. I was obsessed with one of my best friends & bridesmaid Katie Essaryâs wedding dress & asked her if I could wear the corset as my âsomething borrowedâ. She said yes so I went on the hunt for that perfect princess skirt to match. I had a vision of a princess dress âŠa big skirt I could get lost in with tons and tons of tule. I found this skirtâŠit looked so good with her corset & I thought Iâd found my wedding day digs. Until one day I was in Jennyâs Bridal in Huntington Beach, CA. I tried on this dream dress for fun and fell head over heels for it. It was tight all the way down past my waist & flared just above the knee. Ugh…I want this one but I already had the dress I was going to wear. Typical woman. The princess~mermaid bride who can’t decide đ I guess deep down I really wanted to wear a dress that no one had gotten married in before. I was sending pics to my maid of honor, Emily Maynard, who was just fresh off the Bachelorette & who would always give me an honest opinion. She called to tell me that the dress was perfect, asking me what bridal shop I was at, who was the designer of the dress & telling me how I had to get it. So I looked down at the price tag & it was way out of my budget so I told herâŠânoâ and laughedâŠthen cried to myself on the inside haha We hung up and 2 minutes later the manager of the bridal salon knocks on my dressing room door & saysâŠâyour maid of honor just called & bought you that dressâ Oh. My. Goodness. That was the sweetest thing. I shed a tear for sureâŠsheâs an angel.
So needless to say I rocked that magical mermaid wedding dress and still have the un-worn princess skirt. So Iâm going to let my dahls have a crack at it! Let the bidding begin.
