Fantasy Football Draft Day 2016
FANTASY FOOTBALL CHEAT SHEET 2016
IT’S HERE! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Fantasy Football season is upon us & I’m out of my skin excited like it’s Christmas morning! I’ve put together a little cheat sheet for my dahls…even though now a days you have the top ranked players right in front of your faces while you draft online…and even more so…the people that end up having to “auto-draft” tend to have better teams anyway. Kinda takes the skill out of the draft…but not the skill out of the coaching & keeping up with bye weeks, injuries, sleepers and such. I have a few do’s and don’ts for my football dahls…and dahlers. Ha! I just made that up…that’s what I’m going to call my guy readers. It’s like a doll and a baller all in one! Ok…back to bizzy…
QB’s get the most fantasy points at the end of the year…topping your coveted RB’s & WR’s …by over 100 more points! So why in the world would someone take a RB and WR first before drafting their QB? I guess because the talent pool of RB’s & WR’s pales in comparison to QB’s …still. Get the best QB as early as humanly possible in my opinion because that’s who delivers the most fantasy points. By over a 100! The good ones anyway 😉
DO’s
- KNOW YOUR LEAGUE’S SCORING SYSTEM. This may seem go without saying, but you would be surprised how many fantasy coaches who don’t know their leagues scoring system. Fantasy football leagues are all different & if you’re in a PPR league you’ll want to draft receivers who catch the ball a lot. Mmmmkay?
- BYE WEEKS. Bye weeks can beat you up better than that coach who sits at the computer all day determining who to draft. If you have 5 starters from 4 different teams that all share the same bye week….then basically you will have 5 bencher’s playing that week and you can kiss that win goodbye. Chu feel?
- UPGRADE YOUR ROSTER ALL THE TIME. Often times, fantasy owners spend the bulk of their time adding depth to their bench. While this isn’t a bad practice, it is important to not hesitate at the chance to improve your starting squad. Whether through trades or free agency, it is important that you keep an eye out for available talent.
- STAY TUNED TO NFL NEWS. With all the injuries, depth chart changes, trades & all the other audibles the NFL coaches call…it’s a must to stay abreast of the latest NFL news Get an NFL news App on your phone & look at it like you look at your instagram…yep…tawking ta YOU!
DONT’S
- PLAY WITH YOUR HEART Cause if I did I’d have the entire Dolphins roster on my team and nobody wants that for me…nobody.
- GET CRAZY EXCITED OVER ROOKIES Exhibit #1: Johnny Manziel…what a putz he turned out to be.
- FORGET YOU ARE A COACH Remember to switch players out who are on bye weeks, not playing good & don’t forget to do it by game time! We have Thursday night games throughout the year y’all!
- FORGET TO HAVE FUN Remember it’s “Just a game” As super competitive as I am I have to remember that …whether you are in a league with your family, friends, frienemies, coworkers or complete strangers… being polite and patient is always a politically correct. And don’t let it ruin your Sunday! And don’t route against your home team players even if Mr. First Place has your home team QB…I mean get a hold of yourself! Be a real fan of the game first & foremost! And have fun!
Good luck dahls and draft your asses off! Make mama proud xoxo
